After turning off the built il "Opera Ad blocker" (Settings > Privacy and security > "Block ads and surf the web up to three times fasterLearn more"). It seems to work for me. The Issue appears to be the built in add blocker instead of Ublock Origin.

For those who are using opera and having youtube says adblock is against their policy|
I unnistalled ublock and it still way giving me the error
I noticed the opera in built adblock was active, so i disabled
The video loaded again with ads
then i reinstalled ublock origin in this page and reloaded the video on youtube
then there was no ads anymore and everything is fine
If this fixes for you, please let me know, this was how it fixed for me -

@Rhavyc said in uBlock Origin:
Back to breaking YouTube. Time for an update.
====
TRY USING BRAVE BROWSER ALL THESE PROBLEMS STOPPED AFTER 2 DAYS WHEN THERE WAS AN UPDATE , SO FAR SO GOOD -

Why is the Opera version always behind the versions for other browsers? The update is late by over two months.

@hotsteppa: God I wish you people would stop suggesting Brave. I'm not changing browsers again. Just stop.

FIX: YouTube "An error occurred" on Opera / OperaGX
Getting the black screen "An error occurred. Please try again later" on
YouTube? No VPN? This fixed it for me.The cause: my ad blocker (uBlock Origin) was out of date and Opera's store
wouldn't update it. Installing the latest version manually fixed it.Steps:
- Go to: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases
- Under "Assets", download the file ending in .chromium.zip
- Unzip it to a folder you won't delete (e.g. Documents)
- Open opera://extensions and remove your old uBlock
- Turn on "Developer mode" (top right) > "Load unpacked" > pick the unzipped folder
- Restart Opera and test YouTube
Note: only download from github.com/gorhill/uBlock (the real source).
Manual installs don't auto-update, so redo this every so often.Hope it helps.

They updated it, just for those in the back who dont know, you never wake up one day and have to troubleshoot this stuff. Ublock Origin works until Youtube makes it dont. Then we let Ublock Origin know here in these comments. Then they update it. all you hairbrains with your dumb "fixes" and re the guy who said stop suggesting brave, im not switching to brave, genuinely would be baffled by many if any opera users switching to brave, thanks for the update UBlock. alls smooth sailing now again as of 5/29/26

@mantapp this guy is the exception. This isnt a "hairbrain fix" this is manually updating ublock with ublock's own update. so yea. if your still seeing ads, try and manually update, or check if the next update is available for you to do that and check to see if your version is up to date.
