Why is Opera sometimes faster/slower than Chrome or Mozilla Firefox?

I’ve noticed that
in some cases Opera feels faster than other browsers, especially when browsing lighter websites or when the ad blocker is active.

Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing.

Sometimes Opera feels really fast, and other times it slows down without any clear reason. It seems to depend on the tabs, extensions, or even background processes running.

It would be good if it stayed more consistent in performance across all sessions.

@BrysonHale Opera (left up) help, about opera
GX is bigger, slower then standard.
Check the updates: updates OS, Opera puts bs in good working progs. autoupdates by hand..
Bigger then FF, Safari, plus the VPN makes Opera slow.
No MS/Google browsers, never since MS-DOS.
I went to browser/Opera cause vpn, Opera calls it VPN

Definition vpn: begin and end WWW/torrents, mssg - everything online should be encrypted
Opera has only the tunnel encrypted.
I copy-paste the few lines from terms to forum about vpn, in 1 sec gone....
