@Tornelo said in Can't change account in Sidebar Google Calendar:

If you click on the avatar and switch it just opens in a new tab rather than change in the sidebar.

Sidebar pages can't redirect from one domain to another. Doing so either shows an error page or opens the link in a new tab depending on the situation. It's possible that's what's happening here. It might be possible for Opera to fix it, but not sure.

What you might be able to do right now is goto the URL opera://settings/content/all, type google.com in the search field and click "Delete displayed data" to log out of Google and clear its storage. Then, goto the URL opera://settings/clearBrowserData and clear "Cached images and files" for all time.

Then, in a tab, sign in to Google with the account you want. Then, open up the Google Calendar or Gmail sidebar and click its reload button. That might work.

That's how Google Calendar works. Even if you open it in a regular tab, if you try to change the account it will open a new tab with the new account.

@leocg So what? Doesn't mean this is how the extension should work! Such behaviour makes sense for tabs but not for this. You should be able to sign out and sign in with an account of your choice. Same as you do with other extensions.

@Tornelo The page in the panel is just the page you'd load in a tab, so the current behavior is not surprising. With some work, Opera might be able to work around the issue though.

@Tornelo First, it's not an extension, it's the regular page put on a panel. Second, messing with a Google page may be problematic for Opera.

@leocg It's frustrating because I didn't get to pick which account it logged me into on the side bar as I have 3 open at any given time, and it didn't even do my default account, it picked the account I use the least! I wonder if I log out of all of the accounts and then sign into the one I want on the sidebar first maybe it will fix it that way??

I signed out of all my Google accounts then I signed in with the one I want to be on the side bar first and that solved the issue!
