VPN Pro issue

Hey all,
First time here so sorry if I'm in the wrong category or whatever, I'm just trying to find help and can't seem to contact Opera.
I had a free trial of VPN Pro, I cancelled it before the end date in my account and it ended, but I am plagued with this "Expired Subscription" message.
I can't seem to use the free VPN anymore, I have cleared cache, I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times, I have checked articles, rechecked subscriptions.
It is literally bricking my browser so nothing will load and I had to completely wipe my PC to get it working again, but I still have this expired subscription thing showing.
Is there a way I can get this off and just go back to using free VPN?
