I want to completely stop Opera from auto-updating in the background because it sometimes breaks my extensions. Is there any legit method to disable automatic updates permanently?

@Gannu635 Did you rename the one in the folder with the latest version?

In addition to renaming opera_autoupdate.exe to opera_autoupdate.off or deleting it, open the Windows Task Scheduler, select "Task Scheduler Library" and then disable all Opera autoupdate tasks. Then, block the update servers.

To disable auto updates in Opera, open the Opera installation folder, find the opera_autoupdate.exe file, and rename or delete it. Alternatively, you can block Opera’s update URLs using your system’s firewall.
