There's no sync in Opera 14+ for Android yet.

I don't know, this could be normal battery drain because you're actually using the phone. 😛
Or maybe you know it's a specific page draining the battery?

You could go to the phone's Settings → Battery and see the usage there done by Opera. How much % does it show? When it's high you might be able to tap it in the list and press the "Report" button so the developers of the app will receive a report.

Opera uses 6% . I was thinking Android 4.1 could be heavy for my Xperia S.

I think it's normal and similar to other apps. Here Opera is responsable for around 4% of the battery use.

Do you use 3G? 3G uses battery a lot.

don't back to 4.0 because in 4.1 hardware drains less battery and system working more smoothly. disable in used apps what working in background.

But the point is with Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) would be lighter.

                      Who said ICS is lighter?

I say don't go back because the new JB features are worth it. Se what's using the battery and try to solve it somehow.

It depends on the phone. If the phone has a good hardware and a good baterry, ICS will be lighter. For my phone, Jelly Bean is a little heavy.

Have you actually seen similar reports from others users on the web? Other forums, etc...?

                            Nope, why?

Opera is faster with Android 4.0.4. But this is relative, if you have a powerful Android phone with android 4.1 or higher, it must be fast too.

It can also (obviously) depend on your internet connection too, whether it's wifi, 4g, 3g, edge, 2g or gprs.
Which has also been known to affect battery life, depending on signal strength and or distance from access point etc.

Because then we can conclude that you're the only one with the perception of Sony Xperia S's Jelly Bean being heavier than ICS, otherwise you'd have seen other reports to back your claim. So either only you have an issue with your phone settings, or physical battery capacity, or you're actually feeling some kind of placebo...

Opera is faster with Android 4.0.4.
Whaaa no! Since I updated my EVO 3D from stock 4.0.3 to Android 4.4.2 (CyanogenMod) Opera runs smoother (except since the version 21 which is lagging when switching tabs).

You put pure version of Android, I was talking about stock Android 4.0 and stock Android 4.1. And it is a little laggy since 21.

Well, yes, but the reason why it's smoother is probably Project Butter (4.1+). It should affect OEM ROMs too, or not?

It should but Samsung and Sony, modify so much that becomes a little heavy. I remember the difference between Xperia X10 stock 2.3 and Cyanogenmod 7. my old phone.

If I could put pure android on my phone it would be great, once I tried but the was not stable enough.

Afaik, Sony don't modify/add things that much.
