@Michlee Yes. In addition to deleting the "Extensions" folder in the profile folder, also delete the "Local Extensions Settings" folder to see if it helps. Some of Opera's built-in extensions will still show again in the "Extensions" folder when its recreated by Opera, so don't worry about that.

@burnout426 unfortunately I deleted both of these folders and then I launched it again and it did the same thing, both folders reappeared and the extensions did too.
Do you think its worth it to try uninstalling literally everything related to opera on my pc with a program like revo uninstaller or something then reinstall?

@Michlee I think it's worth renaming the "Opera GX Stable" to "Opera GX Stable old" in both "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software" and "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Opera Software" to test starting over with a fresh profile.

@burnout426 I do remember doing that earlier, I changed the name to Opera old and then started fresh which then worked so I thought it was good and that was the problem but then it stopped working all of a sudden.
So now I was thinking the whole thing is corrupted or I gotta restart fresh (the folder renaming) but then not sign in my account because maybe it's messed up or something ya know?

@Michlee Yeah, perhaps Sync is bringing something back in that is causing the issue. Syncing of settings would be my first guess.

@Michlee I would export your bookmarks (with open tabs saved as as speed dial folder) and passwords first just in case.

@burnout426 wait I dont know what I did wrong I renamed it to the old thing and it recreated the folder but when I launch opera again it loads up everything like how it was (including the freezing part) but when I renamed it last time it started fresh?

@Michlee Did you rename the "Opera GX Stable" folders or just the "Default" folders? The former is what you want. Also, you need to do it while Opera is closed (all processes closed in the Windows Task Manager).
If you do that, I don't see how it can bring everything back unless you then log into Sync.

@burnout426 ya I renamed the regular Opera folder and ya im pretty sure it was closed but I already just uninstalled opera (with user settings) and just started fresh with my bookmarked tabs and passwords and stuff and its working fine again (I haven't signed in yet) so we'll see how long that lasts I guess
