@burnout426 is there a better way to communicate, this opera forum keeps taking way to long with the post queues. I respond within 30 mins but then its taking well above 2 hours (as of now) to just go through even though its a couple of words and an emoji

RE: Opera freeze when startupOpera GX
@burnout426 ok so I figured out that my actual extensions are in the folder "default" in the Opera stable folder. I deleted those and now Opera opens up fine and works but there is one problem and that is whenever I click on something clickable for example, a new tab or the extensions button or the settings cog, it lags for a couple seconds and I'm now stuck with that.
I've tried like the flags with GPU rasterization and graphics backend and stuff with no results any knowledge would be appreciated.

RE: Opera freeze when startupOpera GX
@burnout426 Oh ok I didnt know it was that easy
and thats like a fresh fresh start like tabs and passwords and stuff? Just wondering cuz I think thats all that is important and I backed those up.

RE: Opera freeze when startupOpera GX
@burnout426 Ok I did all that and still nothing
do you think the best route is just starting new with an actual fresh install because I did save all my open tabs with the speed dial thing and exported them to an html file (which I tested on the standalone btw and it works fine although I havent opened all them in the workspaces and I know that contributes to pc load aka the "lag" it might be causing)
Anyway the problem with starting new is I dont know how I'd go about that considering when I did both a reinstall and a whole uninstall then reinstall they both didnt work and still lagged afterwards.
My thoughts are it has to do with my profile or something in my files being corrupted and thats causing an issue. I guess im down to fresh restart even tho I would take a long time to get everything back in order I just dont know how

RE: Opera freeze when startupOpera GX
@burnout426 Ok so I tested the bookmarks on the standalone and it doesnt lag it at all.
I also did the history file deletion and it sadly did nothing

RE: Opera freeze when startupOpera GX
@burnout426 Ok that sounds good I will back them up first before deleting the file. I also tried the sync off and it did nothing as well as the deleting the history and browsing data in the browser.

RE: Opera freeze when startupOpera GX
@burnout426 I just could never understand, could it really just stop working randomly cuz of my bookmarks (I have a ton) because it was literally perfect before.
Also ya I was thinkin of that history file stuff but I was just concerned with it erasing some of my current tabs, it wont do that right?
I will try the sync thing too cuz I also heard that one.

RE: Opera freeze when startupOpera GX
@burnout426 Oh ya it was a little weird cuz most of my messages took years but the most recent one sent right away strange
but yes I have tried the standalone and there is no lag at all its super smooth and to answer your other question I didnt find the specific one because it was weird, I would like delete the extensions and then when I launch opera it would reinstall some of them cuz I guess some residual files and what not yk how stuff is sometimes.
so I had to settle for completely removing them in the files and in the browser itself and thats where im at where it lags for ~3 seconds when I click something.

RE: Opera freeze when startupOpera GX
@burnout426 Thank you for responding. I tried the standalone opera and it worked just fine, so I went into the extensions folder for Opera Stable and there was only 3 folders which I take it means there is only 3 extensions because when I look in each of those they all say nothing familiar (as to my extension)/they all say author is opera for each of them, but thats not right because I at least have 5 different active ones. So I dont know if that means it doesnt recognize any of my extensions or something but im so lost now should I delete all three of those extensions or something?
