Bookmarks search function not working

Bookmarks search function not working anymore:
For about 3 months or so I cannot search bookmarks anymore. I can still type in a search term in the search bookmarks space and when I press Enter it seems to proceed, but a never get a hit list.

All bookmarks are still there as well as the bookmarks folder structure.

I've already filed a bug report with Opera a month ago, but never got a reply.

Does anyone have an idea?

Using the search field in the bookmarks panel and at the bookmarks page at the URL opera://bookmarks, I get matches no problem when searching. Using Opera 116.0.5366.21 64-bit on Windows 11 23H2.

Does it work fine in a test standalone installation?

@leocg not yet, but all updates in recent months did not make a difference
