I downloded the extension for Opera, select DuckDuck as default search-engine, but... neverthless that stuff of Google always appears as default search-engine.

@ellinus1971 Search engine in start page/speed dial can't be changed. And only pre-defined search engines can be set as default.

@ellinus1971: Yes effectively they are very hassling had yo put up a fight to uninstall Chrome and I finally found a very good password manager app because google ask me my password 300 times a day I am presently adopting the passkey technology but not every website accept it yet.I navigate duck as an independent browser and it is great but I still love Opera.

What is the use of this extension if the start page can't be customized? Regardless of your choice for DuckdDuckGo, the start page remains Google

I got Opera. I choose DuckDuckGo as my default search engine. I happened to click on the DuckDuckGo homepage link, and saw you advertising your DuckDuckGo Desktop Browser Extension. Opera has ad-blocking, tracking blocking, and native A.I. I noticed that your advertisement for the DuckDuckGo Browser Extension didn't provide any reason for why I should install it on top of the equivalent protections that Opera (hopefully) already provides. So I didn't install it.
