@burnout426 I have the same issue, I tried reinstalling the runtime, I tried everything google had on the issue. No help. I can't even uninstall Opera because it gives the same error.

Can't even use the installer to update.

You can try to uninstall and reinstall the last Windows update. Or, first try to just uninstall and reinstall the last Windows update for .NET.

I've see on Google that a few said that the 0xc0000034 error can be caused by a corrupted .NET Framework install. I don't know why that would affect Opera though. Opera doesn't use it and as far as I know, neither does the installer/uninstaller.

There are also a couple ways to repair the .NET Framework shown at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHvT8Q8Ogkc and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wf8YTe_4HQ0. Attempt those at your own risk though. And, again, I'm not sure how that would help with Opera.

You can temporarily create a new use account on Windows (local one not tied to a Microsoft account), log into it and try things there. If that works, then you'll know it's just your normal user account that's messed up.

If that's the case maybe a good Windows registry cleaner program might help. See https://forums.opera.com/post/140034 for one that an Opera user found useful for something else.

Trying to uninstall leads to the same error.
Trying to re-install / over-install the latest and greatest, downloaded from the website, starts but eventually runs into the same error

                Completely stuck

I found a solution. You have to reinstall opera, but first, go to C:\Users\CURRENTUSER\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera
and find the latest version folder, currently it's 109.0.5097.35. Rename that folder, for example 109.0.5097.35xx and then go inside it, and run the installer as Administrator(important). Opera will reinstall and work again

(copyed my answer from an another thread)

I eventually also got it to work.
I tried uninstalling, which always led to the same error, but in fact files and/or registry settings had been changed/deleted.
It needed a reboot of the system, but after that I was able to re-install Opera and everything works properly again

@nadeosvk Hi, unfortunately not working for me...when I try to install from the folder, it shows an error ".pak files are corrupted".
I'm stuck: I can't uninstall, launch, update or reinstall Opera.
Any advice or update on the problem?

Using Windows 10 Pro. Every unnecessary update of Opera seems to screw up Opera. And this was the latest one. Unable to open or do anything else with Opera. But my solution to all things Opera is to use Revo uninstaller to nuke it, supposedly including all it's traces, and then reinstall Opera. None of the above sugestions worked. Nuked Opera, reinstalled, and it worked as a perfect update, even leaving my history and bookmarks intact. How it left my history and bookmarks intact this time, I don't understand, but it did.

While this is not a good solution i had a full setup.exe for an older version of Opera and it worked. I have gone back to 68.0.3618.125 and it does not allow me to upgrade. But at least i have opera working. I did lose all my bookmarks. I am reassessing opera as a result, which for me is a big thing because i have been using it since 2015.

for me it seems that the problem was in the newest update of opera. Yet, I didn't need to uninstall anything. This is what I did, with all the bookmarks and history saved:

                                1. I navigated to the path were the problem occurred and deleted Opera Browser.lnk shortcut.
                                2. When I looked where opera.exe is located (in my case C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera) and in the same folder I found opera-new.exe file I lunched this one and opera run without any problems. Latter I noticed that opera-new.exe file was automatically substituted with opera.exe file and the opera-new.exe was no longer there.

Problem fixed, hopefully for u as well
