It has been wonderful that we are able to use extensions in opera in latest versions

but this has become hectic that we can't have uniformity as there are three different things stash, speedial and bookmark with no relation

I tried bookmark manager plugin and I am able to import bookmarks from html file. Unfortunately I cant add those in book mark bar directly. Plus there still ain't an export option for bookmarks yet

I hope they combine all the options and give an export option

Check this thread regarding importing your contacts:

        https://forums.opera.com/post/35040

The three bookmarking features you mention are to be thought of differently. Speed Dial is for those few frequently visited sites. Stash is more of a "read it later" feature (i.e. a friend refers you to a site but lacking the time to read it you Stash it temporarily for later reading). Bookmarks are currently available on the QAB which allows you to store literally hundreds of bookmarked sites. Trying to store them on Speed Dial would slow down that feature considerably.

And what is the meaning of the abbreviation "QAB"?? Whatever it means, how do I import my bookmarks from Internet Explorer?

QAB stands for Quick Address Bar which can be enabled in your Settings. It's used for dragging and dropping sites you wish to bookmark onto the bar and in some cases, into folders arranged on that bar allowing you to bookmark literally hundreds of sites.

To import your IE bookmarks, follow the link above to the "other" discussion on that topic.

Aha! The instructions say, "From the main menu, select More tools > Bookmark Importer." But the fly in the ointment is that the 'Bookmark Importer' option is grayed-out. So does that mean that there is no way to import bookmarks into Opera??

I have looked at a minimum of 7 pages in Opera for instructions on the topic "How to import IE bookmarks. No such instructions found, except one which mentions an option called 'Settings > More Tools >Bookmark Importer' That option is grayed-out.So where do I find the real instructions?

An hour has gone by since my first post on this topic. Nothing can be found via Opera Help, or Google. I like Opera and I intend to keep it and use it; even if it means that I have to import my IE bookmarks one by one. But it would be nice if someone would take pity on me by posting a link to the instructions. Please??

It should be enabled if you had imported your old Opera Presto profile into your Opera Blink one.

You can't import directly the bookmarks from other browsers. You'll nedd to export them as html, open the file in Opera, access each link and bookmark one by one; or maybe use a extension or 3rd part tool.
