@burnout426
I think he means since Opera 108 (mine is 108.0.5067.29) there is no sound on Facebook anymore, e.g. watch reels with audio produces no sound on any on my output devices.Youtube.com itself works.
Facebook sound works on MS Edge 122.0.2365.80.
Any idea?
Using Opera since version 6.

@fuzi1968 Tested in 108.0.5067.29 64-bit on Windows 11 23H2. Sound on Facebook works fine for me for timeline videos, story videos and reel videos.

Mysterious. Not for me.
All works incl. Edge + Facebook.
Only Opera + Facebook no sound anywhere: Built-in, Monitor, USB-C external A/D converter.
Using Opera since version 6.

@fuzi1968 After playing a Facebook video, you can goto the URL
opera://media-internals
and look at the log for the player and see if it tells you if there's an error decoding the audio. You can try in a test standalone installation to test if it's something wrong with your profile.
In the past, there have been some issues with USB sound devices. If you can temporarily switch your default output device to something else (like built-in sound card and just analog speaker/headphone jack and things work (after restarting Opera), that might be the case. Usually though in those cases, it's no sound at all, anywhere in Opera.

@brenover Do you have sounds anywhere in Opera? If not, goto settings -> system -> sound -> volume mixer in Windows and choose to reset the volume for all apps. Try the reset while Opera is open and while Opera is closed.
If that doesn't do the trick, while Opera is open and playing a video with audio, check Opera's specific volume in the volume mixer. You can also check it in the old volume mixer by hitting Windows key + r, typing
sndvol
and pressing enter. You can also check that the default sound device is correct in settings -> system -> sound in Windows. You can check that the old way too by hitting Windows key + r, typing
mmsys.cpl
and pressing enter.
