Hiding 'Ad-Blocker' Hotmail Message

To be clear then, the message 'blocks' all ads from displaying but there is no way, within Opera settings, to 'block the blocked message' (so that the right panel is completely 'blank?)..

@sporty78 In my testing, using https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/user-javascript-and-css/nbhcbdghjpllgmfilhnhkllmkecfmpld to set:
div.GssDD { display: none !important; }for
https://outlook.live.com/does the trick of hiding that whole ad area.You can try this User JS workaround to try and get that extension in Opera 95.

Q: Am I correct then that installing a Google Chrome extension produces the same result? (I use Firefox and Opera only).

I ask the above questions because Firefox 'automatically' hides the entire ad area without having to install the newest update 'or' install an extension.

Opera, being based on Chromium, supports Chrome extensions. You can install them from https://addons.opera.com/ or https://chromewebstore.google.com/. However, Google recently switched to a new Chrome web store that Opera 95 doesn't support. You need Opera GX version 104.0.4944.60 or newer or regular Opera (Opera One) version 103.0.4922.0 or newer to download extensions from the new store with workarounds like the User JS workaround I mentioned.

Firefox's adblocker is probably just better.

Disabling Opera's built-in adblocking and tracking protection and installing uBlock Origin, should produce the same result as Firefox's adblocker, if not better. If it doesn't hide the whole ad area by default, you can right-click it and block it with uBlock Origin to hide it.
The User CSS extension I mention is only needed if you're using Opera's adblocker since Opera's adblocker doesn't actually hide the whole area.

If so (and as mentioned), FF 'clears' the ad area completely (and automatically) within its update and Opera should do the same (without having to perform an extra step by installing an extension).

Well, not the only way. You can do it this way without installing any extensions:
Create outlook.txt in Notepad with just the following in it:
outlook.live.com##div.GssDDThen, goto the URL
opera://settings/adBlockerListsin Opera, scroll to the bottom of the page, click "add" under the "Custom Lists" section and point it to outlook.txt. -

Thanks for the time and effort involved in assisting me.
As feedback to the developers 'out there,' full ad-blocking components should be included with all Opera software updates (without the need to install separate extensions each and every time).
