The adblocker is not working topic (Opera for Desktops)

Hi!
Built-in adblock in Opera works horrible since version 99. Can someone please fix it? Didn't anyone noticed it since that release? Its so frustrating... In major cases, adblock does not work on first page opening but only after reloading the page. On YouTube, since few days, even reloading does not help...
One of the best features in Opera for me is built-in adblock, so I do not have to install any third party plugins... well it was until it stopped working as it should.

@kyeq said in The adblocker is not working topic (Opera for Desktops):
This has been happening for several months now, but my adblocker(Yes, its enabled) has been failing to function. For some examples, youtube and crunchyroll are showing ads even though its enabled. Do I uninstall and reinstall?
I think I speak for quite a few when I would rather watch a episode on crunchyroll without an ad after the OP, in the middle, and at the end totaling for about 9 mins of ads for a 23 minute episode. This issue has persisted for several months, despite having my adblocker enabled. Notably, platforms like YouTube and Crunchyroll are displaying ads even though the adblocker is turned on. Should I consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the adblocker?
I believe I'm not alone in this sentiment when I express a preference for watching episodes on Crunchyroll without advertisements interrupting the viewing experience – particularly after the opening sequence, during the middle, and at the end. These interruptions can amount to a total of about 9 minutes of ads for a 23-minute episode.

One more ad company being shown here unrelated to Google or Microsoft. This one is on a random website
Ironically, the last one is a tech tips page and the article is about blocking ads lmao
Ok, I guess it's time for me to move out of Opera again. Unfortunately I can't use Chrome or Firefox at work because I need them clean for my software development, so I'll end up using Edge this time and just put AdGuard and a Speed Dial extension on it.
Good luck, guys. It was nice knowing you. I'll try getting back from time to time and see if this is fixed and if the modularisation actually made the browser modular or if it ended up just being a fancy way to say "round UI"

AD blocker quit working when using AOL. Turning it off then on did no good, blocking non intrusive ads did no good, quiting and restarting Opera with latest version did no good. Not sure about other sites. Any idea why?

I am using Opera on Windows 10 and 11, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint with no issues.
If you have issues, I recommend this ad blocking extension for Opera:

Opera is in cahoots with advertisers, its an ok browser for a backup but its constantly trying to auto update and do nefarious things like if you block auto updates you have to enter your pc login to see passwords in the stored log ins which means opera is storing your logins remotely. Its a POS browser now it has embedded things to make them money. Install another ad blocker is the solution IF you even want to use this spyware adware browser. Now im deleting my account from this rubbish.

@kirkhampton the PC login thing is basic security. Other browsers will do that as well and they do not store your PC password. That's an OS feature and not Opera feature

The website owners are also at war, to produce anti blocking, learning how the codes works and voila, as google does to vpn. Before opera had altavista as search engin sad, you need to install more than one ads blocker , also use cloudflare dns in opera configuration and in your ipv4 configuration

I reset my browser because it was using a lot of ram, and after i did that my add blocker wouldn't work no more.

@uzziah11 I didn't reset anything and yesterday I was getting ads on youtube where before I was not. Today I had the same problem so I don't think it's because you reset the browser, I think Opera browser is having an issue with the ad blocker

Every time Opera does an automatic upgrade, the ad blocker on YouTube stops working. Is there any way to avoid this in the future?
