I think that users should be able to keep old chats after 30 days especially since I reference them for information sometimes.

Agreed.
The privacy statement says:
After your session is complete, your chats will be stored locally, but will not be retained by OpenAI. Chats will be retained for 30 days, and then automatically deleted.
It's quite weird that Opera doesn't ask for permission before deleting locally stored chats.
(On desktop machines, chats are stored in stored in%appdata%\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Default\Local Extension Settings\)And people have no clue when chats will be deleted, because the date of the chat or the number of days before deletion, is not displayed.

According to Aria the 30 days is from the last interaction, I'm assuming this refers to an query and answer set rather than just reading the conversation history.
