      +1 On history, I have it as the first speed dial, would be good to put it on the top.

      It would also be nice to remove the Google search bar. The main browser bar searches already, so it is redundant. I realise it is probably there to help new users find a search box, but once you're familiar with using the main bar (and most browsers work this way), it would be nice to turn it off.

        @nattrill
        You can use Opera's power use mode to remove the search field from the Speed Dial.

        Access the Settings page via the main menu button, click outside the search field to put the focus in the page then type the Konami Code (using the keyboard arrow keys). When you enable this it'll unlock advanced settings and one of them is to remove the search field from the Speed Dial.

          Is there any difference between searching from the address bar, and search from a separate search field? I remember reading once that searching from the address bar, may not be as private/secure. More outside sources see it. (The server?) (Maybe others?). I tried to do a web search on this, but couldn't get any clarification on whether there is a benefit in searching from a separate search bar, as opposed to the address bar.

            Afaik, there isn't any big difference. A request is send to the search service, which respond and then Opera show the results.

              Okay, I eliminated the search box. I'm not sure about the meaning of Konami code, but I did click outside the search box to put the focus in the page, per Raffaeluik, and then followed the instruction here:
              http://newsblog.wti.com/index.php/2013/11/opera-19-developer-update-how-to-enable-operas-power-user-mode/

              "To enable the power user mode press the following key combination while you are on the settings page: Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right b a"

              That must be Konami code 🙂 Or it's something else that works.

                  Afaik, there isn't any bug difference.

                  "Big" and not bug. Damn phone keyboards. 🙂

                    I did a google search for "Power Mode Opera" and found my link that way. That wasn't hard either. 🙂 There are many ways to skin a cat. And my link said to use a small a and small b. And small a and small b worked. The Wikepedia link makes it look like it has to be capitals. Anyway, no point to the Google search bar if it does nothing.

                      @rafaelluik and @lem729, thanks! That worked a treat, and I see I can now change the speed dial size to my liking as well! Hooray! Now if there was only some way of changing the speed dial icons so they were all icons instead of mostly white images of the website...

                        Glad it worked for you, nattrill. I prefer the smaller speed dial size myself. I can display more website folders, if I need to, and also, can try to maximize nice wallpaper for a background. It seems like we get a small picture of the website, so if your website is mostly white 🙂 then that's what you get. It's looks okay and colorful to me -- the snapshot of the web page.
