With so many issues arising from the design and function of this new version of Opera, I'd like to ask a couple of questions relating to the philosophy of the engineers and make a suggestion. First off, I don't believe in change for the sake of change (i.e. we need to change this since it's getting stale and something new will revitalize it). If it works, why not essentially leave it alone and only address bugs that inevitably arise? If design change is seen as desirable to attract a new audience and create interest in the older users, then my suggestion would be to make it much easier to either avoid having to update to the newer version rather than the fairly complicated method outlined by burnout (thanks, burnout, for your hard work and time). Also, engineers might want to make it much easier to opt out in the first place so that there is no need to revert. Going forward, is Opera One going to become the permanent default browser and if so, will security fixes still be available to those who do not want to update to Opera One? I'm not asking for feature updates.... just security updates... will they be made available?

@canadagoose4everreturns Opera doesn't support old versions, except, for a little while, when they drop support for an OS version.

@leocg Okay, that does make sense, Leo, even though I don't particularly like this but I can understand it. So, if I'm understanding you correctly, you're essentially saying that Opera users are going to be forced at some point to upgrade to Opera One if they want their browsers to receive updates whether feature updates or security updates. Right? If that is correct, then my reverting to an older version (i.e. version 99) is not very wise since sooner or later I will no longer be able to receive support for this version. Correct?

@canadagoose4everreturns I think that they will fix issues in the new UI, bring improvements to it, but I don't think they will keep two different UIs, but it's just my guess.

@canadagoose4everreturns Well, I guess yes, those who want to keep an updated version of Opera will have to use Opera One. Opera 99 won't get any new updates.

@leocg Thank you, Leo. I can appreciate Opera's predicament trying to carry two versions as impossible. I'm okay with that.
