Like other people here I just register myself on this site to show my hate to the new UI, this is awful, is ugly, is horrendous. Why would you change something that's working? I even think that maybe another bigger company buy you and you're trying to push us away, I don't find a logical explanation for this you have done. We want the old opera UI back, that's it, just fire the person or team who told you to do this, everyone is changing browser right now...

- I don't like the gap
- new tab button is small, and unnecessarily bright, keeps catching my attention (white-mode only issue)
- inconsistent padding
- there is a gap between the edge of the screen and the scrollbar, putting your mouse all the way to the right and dragging it down will not scroll the page.

some of these features don't seem to fit in with the others. I think it depends on the user, I personally use flow a lot, and would prefer having it next to the messenger and AI features. I think the same should go for the other Special Functions (Music Player and Crypto Wallet). Depends a lot on how 6. is addressed.

rounded corners. I don't mind them that much, but using rounded corners introduces gaps. I do mind the gaps, the gaps are weird, I don't like gaps. I'd rather have an option to set the window background color set to the same white color as the searchbar and sidebar to at pretend there aren't any gaps. but maybe that's just me.

context (wokspace?) swap animation. I'd prefer to disable it entirely, but if not, at at least fix the wonky animation that happens when going in the reverse order (from 3rd to 2nd for example)

@notrustybot i agree with everything you said. in addition to that, i hate that the extensions are in the top right corner now. i want my profile to be in the top right corner, like it used to be. also the speed dial / home button is gone, which is really annoying. this whole update is a major disappointment UX-wise.

Hey, I'm currently using Opera because I really enjoyed the old user interface it had. However, I've noticed that the latest updates have brought significant changes to the UI, and I must admit that I'm not a fan of the new look. It would be great if there was an option to revert back to the old GUI, as it felt more comfortable and familiar to me. I believe having such flexibility would enhance the overall user experience for those who prefer the previous design. Opera has been a reliable browser for me, and I hope they consider accommodating users' preferences when it comes to the interface.

Please add the ability to disable the display of site icons on the express panel. And return the filling of the tabs with solid colors. Now all the icons are of different quality and different sizes, it's ugly. At the same time, just the text "Reserved" looks cool.

In addition to the fact that Opera one has become simply terrible and ugly (all these shortcomings have already been pointed out many times), it is incredibly annoying that it is impossible to disable auto-update, I would have put version 95 or any other with the greatest pleasure, before the browser was ruined, and used Opera further

I know they were aiming at the Gaming community with the GX browser but why not to stay with that? You can have 2 browsers when – in the end – they are the same one, just with different packaging.

@gustavomolina I agree. Worked in IT for over 40 years. Ran many roll outs of new products and services. This one is far the worst. I use my speed dial page a lot. My tiles were all solid and large so I could see them. Upgraded and now I have to go into each one to correct their upgrade just to get back what I had before the upgrade. I have used Opera since 1997 as my main browser. No support or even one word about this from the company. They lost me as a user.! Who would think leaving your user with a speed dial page like this is the proper thing to do? speed dial.png

Just adding another person to the "I hate Opera One UI" list...
What really annoys me is that software companies like this believe that they have the right to destroy my user experience to suit their own ends.
If I had the power I would force every software company on the plant to:
- Never auto-update my software
- Provide screenshots of any UI changes
- Provide a roll-back feature button to remove unwanted changes
So entirely sick and tired of some idiot developer with an IQ of less than the number of teeth in his head and the design ability of a fence post having the ability to ruin my user experience.
But it isn't just the designer.
Where is the QC / UAT manager in all of this?
Which fool(s) signed off on this?
Did anyone ask the community?
Did anyone even look at the walking abortion they have created?
...or was it just "code compilies successfully; push to users"?

It's possible I am an outlier here with as many tabs as I normally have open but the new tab bar is a bloody mess to sort through. I cannot select a tab if its playing video or music, other than to mute it not go back to it without having to search it, and the tabs are so bright it makes having night mode on useless. I hope that Opera One will allow users to have more control over the gui appearance and set up. As right now its a bloody mess.!!

Hello I think there is a bug or something I cannot scroll on websites. Also there are some unnecessary gaps and round edges. I cannot change it back anywhere. Please help!

I have to confess that I've come to like the new design by now. I confess, that it's a little different from the old one, but not that much.
I've used Chrome, Edge, Vivaldi, Brave, Safari and Firefox recently - and I don't think there's any of them having a pleasant UI like Opera, except for Vivaldi maybe which you can make look similar to pre-100 design, but not totally.
But of course, that's a matter of taste. Changes of UI always provoke strong reactions as Mozilla has also experienced with their Photon(?) design of last year. Or Apple with Safari on iOS.
Even in Presto-times Opera's design changed with any major version if I remember correctly.
I didn't have any learning curve after upgrading to 100, actually.My only catch with Opera still is its unclear connection to its Chinese investors and how that affects its data privacy. Otherwise I even like its new design for being handy, clutterfree and streamlined especially in contrast to Edge with all its MS-bullsh..t.

Could we at least have the option to fill the whole tab and not have the pointless border around the page? Not only is it ugly with the round corners in my opinion, but the fact that the scroll doesn't work anymore if your cursor is all the way to the left or right is plain annoying.
Also, please return the Speed Dial button to the left of the address bar. -

Speaking purely for myself; the people that sent me here are the faceless and unaccountable ones in Opera that think it is just fine to push a product change onto me without any consideration, without offering the ability to preview and reject it, or (at a minimum) the ability to "one click rollback".
There is no conspiracy here. If you are seeing a lot of people joining the forum to complain about the new look of the UI it is, most likely, because it is such a c****** f*** that is has vastly annoyed a large number of usually quiet customers.

I would never have registered here if the new browser wasn't so terrible. if there are already so many, then this should actually have a signal effect that something is going damn wrong... -

@rtg-99999 Agreed, that it is like you said, why not move to another browser then? There‘s free choice.
I appreciate those who are long time users and active members of this forum. But I‘m a bit sceptical of those voices who joined only hours ago only to their disappointment in the name of a self acclaimed silent majority.
I‘m using the new UI without troubles. works like before. May like it or not, but why aren‘t others able to do?
My only issue with Opera is as stated before privacy as they‘re connected to a Chinese consortium. -

@hesminewho I don‘t believe they will do only because of forum entries. It was part of a great marketing campaign. How would they roll back and say: We were totally wrong?
I‘m not saying that I emphatically like the new design. But it‘s like every other thing in the world: it changes.
Feel free to use Chrome or Brave if you like classic design, then. Or Vivaldi, if you like to tweak your settings. Edge in my opinion is totally bloated with its Bing and MS-Stufe in it.
Or just get used to the design changes.Although I like the old design, too, maybe even better, I don‘t expect them to make the regression then.
