after the update, all open tabs from all spaces disappeared. Is it possible to restore them?

If you haven't closed Opera yet, maybe.
Goto the URL
opera://about
, take note of the "profile" path and copy the "Sessions" folder in the profile folder to your desktop. Then, close Opera and delete all files in the "Sessions" folder in the profile folder. Then, select the Session_xxx and Tabs_XXX files with the older timestamps in the "Sessions" folder on your desktop and copy them to the "Sessions" folder in the profile folder. Then, when you start Opera, you might get lucky. If it doesn't work, you're out of luck and the session files are probably new and empty because the old ones were corrupted or something and the updater replaced them. Happens sometimes to some users.
If you've already closed Opera after Opera started with the missing tabs, you're out of luck.
You can also use this page to extract the links out of your session files and then open them (if the links are still in there). If you had more than 50 opened tabs, right-click the max tabs field at the bottom of the page, choose "inspect element" and change the max to a way higher number before loading choosing your sessions file.
