@wolfgangw Was able to download the zip file. I can confirm Opera is having an issue with 2 of them. Still checking things out.

Found 2 different workarounds:
Workaround 1:
Hit the Windows key + r to open the run dialog, type
mspaint
and hit enter to open Paint.Hit ctrl + o in paint to open one of the problem images.
Once the image is opened goto "File -> Save -> JPEG picture" and save it as test.jpg.
Then, in Opera, click the Easy Setup button, click "add wallpaper" and point it to test.jpg.
It should then display okay in Opera.
Workaround 2:
In Notepad, type the following and save it as persona.ini next to the problem "BULGARIEN mit Johanna (1).jpg" file for example.
; This file is stored in UTF-8 encoding [Info] Name=BULGARIEN mit Johanna (1) Author=Opera Software Version=2 [Start Page] Background=BULGARIEN mit Johanna (1).jpg Position=center center
Then, select both persona.ini and "BULGARIEN mit Johanna (1).jpg", right-click the selection, choose "Compress to zip file" and name it "test.zip". (As you can see Background= needs to have the filename for the pick you're dealing with.)
Then, in Opera, click the Easy Setup button , click "add wallpaper", change the file type drop-down from "Wallpaper image" to "Wallpaper archive" and point it to test.zip.
It should then display in Opera.
Now, as to why Opera has a problem with the original problem image when you add it directly where it generates the persona.ini and zip file for you (in Opera's Themes folder in the profile folder), I'm not sure so far. Opera might be failing to position the image right in that case. I've seen others report that Opera isn't centering some wallpapers correctly. This might be related. The image is still added as a wallpaper in Opera and becomes active. You just don't see it.
As for why Opera doesn't have a problem with the copy saved for Paint, not sure. I just see that the original problem image and the one saved by paint have a different APP1 segment length for the EXIF data for the file. 0x4a 0x68 for the problem original and 0x30 0x4c for Paint's copy. But, that's probably just due to differences in support for EXIF data between Windows Photo Editor that generated the original and Paint.
Will have to see if I can break in image just by resaving it with Windows Photo Editor. Either way, it sounds like something Opera could and should fix so far.

I tried your version 1 (workaround) and it works!!
However, it is a little easier:
click on the picture, then right click, open with PAINT and then save under TEST.
This means that I do not need version 2.Thanks again for your effort !!

Found the problem. It's silly. It's a filename issue. If the filename contains a parenthesis (left or right), you get this issue.

Ah yes, I see that.
If I have (e.g.) 'Filename (1)' or ...(2), (3) etc.,
then it doesn't work!!
I'll use a hyphen instead of the bracket:
instead of filename (1) filename-1 ...-2, -3 etc.
I hope it works then!
Thank you for your research and for letting me know!!What does "File Bug DNA-108940 for this" mean in your last mail?

In means I filed a bug report in Opera's bug tracker so hopefully this will get fixed. That is the bug number for it. Viewing bugs is not open to the public, so me posting the bug number is just for reference so users can check the changelogs for it. Users can post their own reports though.

No, but the bug is fixed internally. Watch the 102 changelog for DNA-108940.
