Does Opera keep deleted bookmarks?

Hi, because the encryption button part is not working I logged in from a browser with an older version of Opera installed computer. The button part worked correctly here, but somehow my bookmarks that I deleted years ago came back and my current bookmarks are gone. I've never logged into my account from this browser before. (There is no local backup.) How can this happen? Does Opera keep the bookmarks we deleted?
(My main language is not English, so there may be grammatical errors in what I write.)

The area where I can enter the passphrase is not visible both stable version and developer version. Also the recycle bin was completely empty. The bookmarks I mentioned are from almost 3 years ago. After the synchronization my current bookmarks gone and old ones shown.

Opera does not store deleted bookmarks. However, if your Opera account has old bookmarks on it, and you sign in with it on Opera Browser when you haven't in a while, the sync will add the old bookmarks from your Opera account to the browser.
