Maybe try Re-installing the browser, and remove all user data during the process...

Opera GX is slow ever since last update.
When launched it takes long until Start Page is loaded (Opera`s Speed Dial).
YouTube page loading is extremely slow at times, it can even freeze tab sometimes when loading page, and not to mention bigger playlists. Before anyone suggests the usual, yes tried completely reinstalling, ran without addons, Opera Settings are the same as always (No Data Saving or anything that can slow it down.)
Like I said, it only started happening after last update.

Hi there folks,
a few days ago my Opera GX started running really slow for some reason, i've tried to google it but to no avail.
I have fewer tabs open that i usually have, so that's not it. I'm on a i9 9900K 32GB RAM PC, so that's not it.
I've tried closing a lot of tabs, zero difference. Restarting either Opera or the entire PC doesn't do anything.
I've disabled pretty much every extension.I really don't know what else i can do. Any suggestion?
Thanks

New user a few mins ago, and I was using Opera normal browser before using Opera GX, but even though it has a cool look, after 45 mins of usage, I was unable to open 2 tabs which I want to open.
Was so eager to move into Opera GX for the first time and this happens. -

Sometimes all the tabs open at once this is why the tabs are so slow.

Opera GX auto update is turning the browser lauching very, very, very slow.
I read some help in internet about this problem (and others derivated) and I like to suggest some solutions to agilize the problem-solving.
You can add options in Opera as
(a) at installing, do not load Opera Gx when the installation is finished (or give the option to load browser at install finish, but alert of the risk/peril about auto-updates)
or
(b) by default, do not update Opera Gx, but give to user a option to allow/disallow Manuals or Automatics updates
(c) offer links to download updates and make manual updates
(d) revert updates done, one by one (as a time-machine).II spent Much time to discover that the auto update was slowlinbg my Opera GX.
In my oppinion some changes - as that - would be retroactive, to older versions…

Hello, after several attempts to get Opera GX working as intended I couldn't resolve this problem, since a few weeks ago it turned to be slower than anything else. Im talking about 20-25 segonds just to opening Opera, and for every download takes 20-30 seconds also to pop up the windows save file screen (also the download speed is about 100 kb...), even sometimes the screen freezes if i have to open something like Opera settings bar. This problem doesn't show up on secure mode with wifi access or any other browser, my steps to try to solve this were the following.
-Check that VPN, Adblock, Hardware acceleration and Energy saving options are disabled.
-Unistalled and reinstalled 5 times Opera GX cleaning the files on AppData, remaining registry keys and Program files folders.
-Started Opera GX without markers or extensions and with default configuration (Same problems, no speed increase noticed)
-Download from the same domains between Opera gx and Chrome (no delays noticed at chrome downloading the same file), also checked the wifi connection that im using with ethernet cable.
-Updated Opera GX to the latest version.
-Go to Opera flags and enable "Parallel downloading" (this one was just weird, at first it worked flawlessly, and i could download files in less of 1 second, but after reboot Opera went back to slow navigation and download).
-Check the background process running (Shift+esc), didn't find any clues about it.
-Tried to use GX Control for Network, Cpu, Ram limiter. no impact in any sense, no matter in changing the parameters.
-Scanning my own device using BitDefender, MalwareBytes and Adwcleaner, no malicious threats were found that could affect Opera browsing.
So in resume Opera works good in secure mode but out of it, its impossible to use and I'm forced to change browser to get normal navigation. I would really apreciatte any suggestions to solve this problem, I don't want to leave using Opera but its getting really annoying.

!Resolved! In the history, I cleared everything except passwords and autocomplete. It is necessary to clear not in 24 hours, but for "all the time".
Before cleaning, the opera started quickly, but it was necessary to wait 10-15 seconds until the express panel appeared. After cleaning, the panel appears immediately. -

I was having issues with speed and this fixed it for me.
Turned off vpn, hardware acc and battery saving mode.
Ryzen 5 5600X | Radeon RX 6700X | 16GB 3200MHz RAM
This 100% Worked, the hardware acc i think is also one of the big reasons, thx so much

Running as Administrator allows the app to have full access to your computer. -

@neon4435 Among other issues. Opera doesn't allow external sites access to your filesystem (unlike, say, Chrome) so that isn't as big an issue as you might think. But running as Administrator even once sets every file modified by the browser as requiring Administrator access, meaning you'd have to delete your profile before you can run it again in normal mode. When you've seen what a mess it is to clean up you know no one should ever do it, no matter how safe the sites they might visit while doing so.

I've been having issues with GX being really sluggish these past few months. It got really worse this past month and I tried everything from reinstalling to clearing the cache. Then last night, being fed up, and nearly switching over to Firefox, I decided to clean out my bookmarks. I found that I had some duplicate ones and read that those could potentially cause browser issues due to corrupt data. So I went ahead and annihilated about 70% of the bookmarks I had saved, and lo and behold, it sorted out my issue.

It takes several minutes to open any website, including YouTube or discord. It is like that for all websites. Are there any settings or extensions that speed up the performance. It is almost unusable.

Irritating indeed, YouTube takes 30 seconds to give me a proper screen, what's the problem? I use W11 (of course) I ditched 50% of my bookmarks, but that wasn'ti, what is it, do we need a new version?
