Quite a few other users have also reported the disneyplus.com page using up all RAM in Opera till it crashes. Not sure what's up yet. But, see https://forums.opera.com/topic/57185/solved-disney-plus-freezes-crashes-while-watching-videos and try disabling Opera's adblocking and tracking protection just to see if it avoids the issue for Disney+ and for Reddit.

Thanks, I'll try it for D+, but I would really like to avoid turning off adblocker for Reddit. -

@mkptxpym If you find that disabling Opera's adblocker avoids the issue on Reddit too, you can use uBlock Origin to block ads instead of Opera's adblocker. Maybe it won't cause the high RAM issue.

For those experiencing high RAM usage and crashes on disneyplus.com, the Opera devs are asking if you'd please provide some media-internal logs.
Restart Opera, goto disneyplus.com, play a movie for a bit, goto the URL
opera://media-internals
and click "save log". Then, upload the log somewhere and link to it in this post.If you decide to post the log text in a comment instead, indent the text by 4 spaces so that it's formatted as code. You can do this in Notepad++ for example. Just ctrl + a to select everything in media-internals.txt, hit tab to indent, then hit ctrl + c to copy, and then ctrl + v to paste in the comment editor here. Just make sure Tab is set for 4 spaces at Settings -> Preferences -> Language in Notepad++.
After generating the log and restarting Opera, if you're using Opera's adblocking and tracking protection, disable it and play a movie at disneyplus.com and report back here whether or not disabling Opera's adblocking and tracking protection avoids the RAM/crash issue.
Finally, please also try in a test standalone installation and report back whether you have the RAM/crash issue there or not.
Also, please test with just the disneyplus.com site opened without playing any video to see if you get high RAM usage and crashes.
Also, please mention whether you're using regular Opera or Opera GX. And, goto the the URL
opera://about
and please mention what version and built you're using. And, please include what version of Windows you're using.Thanks.

@burnout426 When I'm done, where am I supposed to send the data? I would feel uncomfortable publishing it for everyone to see

I also noticed I am only experiencing this error when on disney+ and it started only yesterday. However, I am wondering if Disney+ would cause this as well? I only have 3 tabs open in Opera..

@joel-nk If you want to send it privately, you can email me. Click my username to see my address.

@burnout426 Add Blocker switched off solves the problem, but like others I do not like sharing my data! The Edge Browser has no problem running Disney+ movies, so I would say that the Opera Add Blocker is the problem when using Opera? Until very recently Opera worked flawlessly with D+ even with the Add Blocker running,

turning off adblock solves the problem. another problem I had, I wasn't able to use "continue watching" thing on disney+ because apparently opera tracker thing also blocks it. I turned it off for disney+ and now I can see "continue watching" on my disney+ home page. I dont have that problem on netflix or prime video when that tracker thing is on.

@dkawrtyu Yes, for full use of D+ the tracker also needs to be switched off, I forgot to mention that!
And you are also right that Netflix and Amazon Prime work with the Add Block/Tracker on.
So maybe the problem is with Disney not Opera? -
