Opera creating folders for .exe files

Hello i have recently changed the downloads directory for opera as i have upgraded with a 1tb ssd made just for games/downloads. Whenever i download an executable(rufus, media creation tool, other installers) and open it, it is found under a subfolder called scoped_dir[random numbers] besides the file that i have downloaded, so at a point there are 2 exact copies of the same file in my downloads. Is there any fix to this issue? I have found posts from 2016, 2017, 2019 but none of them had an actual solution to the issue, just speculations and other people experiencing it. Thank you for any help you can possibly offer.

https://forums.opera.com/post/132282 is the reason for doing this. You'll also see that it's not producing an extra copy, just a hard link to the original. Opera does this by default when your download folder is on the system drive. It's just that the scoped directory is in the temp folder where you don't see it. When you have your download folder on a different drive, the scoped directory can't go in the temp folder and has to go next to the download.
There's still no way to disable this and still no plan to add an option to disable this.

@burnout426 oh, sorry i initially thought it was just an extra copy, now i remember when cleaning the %temp% there were a couple of scoped dir's there. Didn't know that they had to be on the same drive though, my bad, I checked and they automatically clean up after closing opera. Thank you for providing the information !
