Opera for Mac is crashing topic

After the most recent update, every time I launch Opera it loads but pops up the app crashed notification.
Opera is running, and I just close the popup, but why the heck did it start doing that....ps. I/we would be much happier using Opera if ya'll would just leave it alone. Don't need new features everyone couple weeks. Just want it to load a webpage and support webpage coding, scroll to top by clicking tab, remember logins, save bookmarks, and not memory leak if you have 100 tabs open.. Is that too much to ask?
Every 'update' just pushes me closer to finding a new browser.... -

For me, the same after updating to version 84.0.4316.14. I have reported a bug. I am waiting. How can developers release something like this? Nobody checks these updates? MacOS 10.14.6 -

Opera keeps giving me a crash report after I close the browser and reopen it. It's not crashing. It's me closing the browser and then maybe later I'll try to reopen it to casually browse or something. Immediately upon opening it gives me a crash report of "Opera quit unexpectedly" or something and it wasn't doing that before. Please help.

Same.
Opera: 84.0.4316.21 (x86_64)
macOS: 10.14.6 (18G9323)This is the same issue that is plaguing the current version of GitHub Desktop, and stems from a braking change in a dependency.

Same thing here for a while.
Feels weird to be beta testing a browser in this day and age

All of sudden, it keeps crashing on my Mac. It opens and closes by itself for several times and just crashes. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall it, but it's till the same. Anyone have the same problem? Any help? TIA

@mezzeta said in "unexpectedly quit" alert:
Since update continually getting "unexpectedly quit" alert... any help?
I am likewise getting that result. When I properly shut Opera down, the next time I open it, I get unexpectedly quit. Running a Mac Pro with Mojave. Maybe the OS is too old?

If you open opera using a terminal this will pop out even without a crash message
Terminal output:libva error: vaGetDriverNameByIndex() failed with unknown libva error, driver_name = (null)
it does not appear in previous versions

Been having the same problem, ever since last update (Version:84.0.4316.31 (x86_64). Have done everything "Opera" has said to do ....3x...., still having problem. Also since this started I'm having to log-in to various apps continually, instead of only logging in 1 time. Getting very frustrating. Feels like a poor Beta version. Have been using Opera for years & now considering moving to a different browser.
