Printing crashes the browser

Been having issues with printing lately. Whenever I try to print a document, regardless of the website, it will crash the browser. The printing dialog box will show up, it will say "loading preview..." and then the browser freezes and crashes. Anyone know what to do or why this is happening? I'm using a Canon printer.

So, all you have to do is goto any website and hit ctrl + p and Opera crashes?

@burnout426 yea basically. The print dialogue shows up like on chrome, but preview doesn't load, can't cancel or press anything. It just crashes

@gchen Regular Opera or Opera GX? What version of Windows and what version of Opera? Does it happen in a test standalone installation also?

It's now 28 May 2022. This problem still exists! My powerful Desktop PC runs up to date Windows 10. The browsers I use are: my default Opera, plus Chrome and Edge. All 3 browsers disappear from my desktop, when I press the print button in their browser's Print GUI - even Microsoft Edge!My Work Around is to save, what I want to print, as a .pdf file, listed in the Destination drop-down menu. Then print the .pdf file. This surely is a Windows 10 problem!

@kodo-domino-nosaki Hello, for me that is not a Windows 10 problem. I use Linux Mint and this problem occurs since a very long time with Opera. There is no print problem with Chrome or Chromium on my desktop. I don't understand why the dev team dont correct it. I use Chromium now, but with regrets.

I corrected the problem with 2 actions :
- rename the ".config/opera" folder in ".config/opera.old"
- uninstall and reinstall opera

Hello
Same issue here, trying to print emails in gmail. The print dialog appears with "Loading preview...", I can see the three dots jump once and then it freezes. Does not recover.
Chrome "freezes" too. There is this milk overlay but I can still see the three dots jumping. It then recovers after 20 seconds.
Unable to print any page.

@philou-69210 Problem resolved after renaming the ".config" in my home directory (in ".config.old"). But it's a lot of pains because all my applications have lost their configuration. So I had to move some application's directories one by one between ".config.old" and the new ".config" directory until they recover their datas I couldn't found where was located the Opera's configuration problem.
I had this problem with Opera Linux and not Windows. -

I reiterate: About 2 years ago, my preferred browser Opera, plus Google Chrome and even Microsoft Edge, began and have 'til this day continued to crash, when using their respective browser Print GUI, to print directly from my Epson WF-4830 printer. The printer reports, "DONE", with nothing printed.I can and do print the subject matter to my computer as a .pdf file, from which I am able to send a successful print request to my printer.
A few sources on and off the Internet, suggest that this is deliberately done so, 'cause of security concerns. Plausible and understandable, but a topic way over my head. I've acclimated to this new way of printing, with a, Save As PDF, folder, from which I can obtain needed hard copy.

@miky666 I have the same problem and I'm using Firefox too to print web pages in pdf. The problem of printing pages in Opera came out of nowhere, one day it was working and next day it stopped and have not been working for a couple of weeks now.
I guess the too frequent updates of Opera are part of the cause of the problem with glitched printing. I can do downloads normally, including pictures from websites but cannot download the entire page
