Graaskjegg last edited byWhenever I open Opera GX my Windows Defender triggers a warning that it has detected malware. More specific the: Obfuse.SM!MTB. I have tried most options but ended up uninstalling Opera GX. Now I'm using Google Chrome and there is no issue at all. Any idea what is going on?

leocg Moderator Volunteer last edited by@graaskjegg And how do you know that it's related to Opera? Anyway, it's probably the same related in https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/comments/sog7mo/trojan_detected_by_windows_defender/

Graaskjegg last edited by Graaskjegg@leocg I know this because once I uninstalled Opera GX and started using Chrome the problem disapared and hasn't occurred again. I have tested several malware software to see if there was indeed some malware in my computer. The results were negative. Therefore I believe the problem is Opera GX.

Graaskjegg last edited by@leocg Yes, I checked the link Thank you for the link Thank you for the link
It may just be a false positive, but it's an irritating one. I will try to reinstall Opera GX in a few days just to test.
