      Hello all.
      System - Windows 11 Home
      Opera - 83.0.4254.27
Despite being disabled in the sidebar configuration, Facebook Messenger sometimes turns on by itself.

@adam-broda I have been complaining about this for ages. It is one of the primary reasons I use Opera so little now.
If I was not so in love with the Workspaces I would have stopped using Opera completely because of this ridiculous 'forcing' the messengers section on us.

@adam-broda I was looking for a solution to this irritation when I found a post from 2 years ago mentioning the same issue: Whatsapp and Facebook messenger keep activating themselves.
It's an issue that they seem to ignore, so they're definitely forcing these "features" on us. I had Instagram active previously and didn't have this happening to me, it's only since removing it that the messenger feature keeps bugging me. So, if you don't want to switch to a different browser, perhaps try activating at least one and see if that works? I'm going to try this myself and see what happens. I don't feel like going back to Chrome just yet.

@bon90 - thanks, but I've moved on to Vivaldi, the folks at Opera refuse to address an issue that obviously many people find extremely annoying, so if they don't care about their user base, then i don't care to use their browser.
No skin off their nose, none off mine.
