Any way to disable the initial "refresh"?

Since a few months ago (and a few updates I guess) Opera always "refreshes" 1-2 sec after start, meaning in that time I type an address and press enter but Opera will delete that and not go to the page, kind of like it refreshed the tab.

Any way to change this?

There's no option to control this. If this happens, I'd consider it a bug.

I have had this happen to me before a few times recently (can't confirm now though). Just can't remember if it was in Chrome or Opera. I think it was in Chrome though. But, in Chrome, I have an extension that replaces the newtab page, so it might be the culprit when it happens.

Microsoft Edge (the older, non-Chromium-based one) used to do this all the time and it was annoying.
