I've never tried to sign in to Opera on PC before but I've use it on Android for years now across three devices. On my laptop, I click "Sign In" which brings up the QR code. I open Opera on my Pixel 6 operating Android 12 and the newest version of Opera and scan the code. It attempts the connection but then tells me "Connection declined on your other device", ie, my laptop. I've disabled the ad blockers on both apps and the McAfee Firewall on the laptop but the result is the same.

How do I fix this? Is there no way to simply sign in to the Opera app on my laptop like on my phone?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help or even provide some insight into why it's not working.

@pterosaur When you go to Menu > Synchronize in Opera and turn on the synchronization (if you haven't done it before), you are taken to a page that should allow you do sync using your username and password or in anonymous mode using a QR Code.

IMO, using the username/emal and password is always the best option to login to Sync.

If you want to connect your PC and your phone using the QR code, go to www.opera.com/connect on the PC, where you should see a QR code. In Opera for Android, go to synchronization and backup, tap on connect device and scan the QR conde on the PC.

Thanks for the reply. I was going to respond and explain that I tried all that (because I had) but I thought I'd try it again before responding. Strangely enough, the option to sign in actually appeared today in a space that it simply did not exist yesterday.

          So I'm logged in now.

          Thanks! 🙂
