Strange Update Behaviour

Browsing earlier today and I got a redirect to a page telling me "browser needs updating" or similar. Clicked on it, I was not concentrating, and then thought that I may have done the wrong thing.
Checked my download folder and I have opera.update.44a2cf which is a JavaScript file. This struck me as odd. Is this normal/correct.
I have run 3 x virus scans all reported clean but I am a little concerned.
Can anyone advise please? Thanks!

@mark-ak It seems that you were caught by a phishing page.
Opera updates are automatic by default and you will only receive a notification in the menu asking for you to restart Opera to install an update, at most. As far as I know, Opera doesn't show any pages telling you that an update is needed.
If the antivirus didn't find anything, you are probably safe, but remove the suspicious files.

@leocg Thanks. That's what I thought. Wouldn't normally have clicked but I was mid-conversation with someone and not really focused.
I've run Windows Defender scan, MalwareBytes Antimalware and also Trend HouseCall and they've all come up clean, which gives me hope. They're what I've always used, are there others you might suggest?
Just seems really odd, the redirect was in a page I visit often.
