@q153513851 Probably not that many people are interested on it.

Also, that is more of a feature request, so you should wait at least for the release of three major versions of Opera for Android to bump the topic.

@q153513851 It's not a problem that needs to be solved, it's just a request that can or can not be accepted.

@leocg I think this is the basic function of a browser.

@q153513851 Why? If I'm on a browser, why don't open links in the web pages on the browser?

@leocg In your country, websites will not open app without authorization, but in our country, 80% of websites will open app without authorization. Can you imagine that every time I visit a website, it will open their app?
Yes, in your country, it's just a dispensable function, but for us, without this function, we can't use Opera normally.
Imagine that every time you open Google, it jumps to Google App without authorization. What a terrible thing

@q153513851 So the links are opened in external apps even with the setting for it being turned off?

@leocg Even if I didn't install the app, it would jump to play store for me to download

Imagine that every time you open Google, it jumps to Google App,Even if I don't have Google App installed, it will jump to play store for me to download.
All this is done automatically. Without asking the user's will, it will automatically jump to the app.
In China, almost all websites with app will jump to app, so for us, this is a more serious problem than crash. Crash only happens once in a while, but every time we open any website, we will jump to app or play store.

@q153513851 Then shouldn't you report the problem instead of asking for a feature that, basically, is already there?

@q153513851 And what was the behavior before the feature has been implemented? If I remember correctly, it was introduced because people wanted to open certain links on their own apps and Opera didn't support it.

@leocg This function is normal. I mean there should be a setting that allows the user to set the default open, default reject, and ask every time.

@leocg If there is no such setting and this function is abused, it will jump to app or play store as I described

@q153513851 Right, Opera could add the option to ask every time. However if there is an setting to allow or block links being opened in external apps and it isn't working, then I think the problem should be reported.

@q153513851 Always open everything in app is a bad idea, in that if someone can get a bad app accepted to the store they can force you to use it. That's why originally Opera never opened apps. It should be possible for you to indicate trusted apps and say, always open YouTube in the app as an example. But everything is not what you should want.

@leocg But there are only default open and default reject in the settings, and default reject is invalid.
This setting in the picture is invalid.
