Yet again, I updated, now to version 75, and yet when I open it, it's not but a couple minutes before it becomes unresponsive, running up 100% CPU Usage, and freezing. So I have to force quit it.

What is going on? Why would it just not work, at all? I've used Opera for years, but then beginning with the last several updated versions, I try, and nothing. This is so frustrating, and I can't figure out why in the world it just won't work.

Is there something that could be on my computer that is causing it to not work? I have no idea what it can be, and if someone knows I'd sure love to hear some ideas. Thank you

@stevenjcee Can confirm. Starting recently v75 has a lot of issues on Mac Big Sur. Freeze ups, scrolling pages like Google pause, eventually all tab pages become unresponsive with some weird graphics glitches. Re-setting all settings works for a little bit then it starts all over again.

@illiniguy Thanks, but I'm not yet there, I'm using Catalina. But this has been happening, even when I was on Mojave... My laptop is on High Sierra, and it works ok on that, and it's over five years older than my iMac, which where I'm having all the problems...

@stevenjcee Well, I re-installed the most updated Catalina, to see if it might fix a few bugs. Even tried opening Opera again (ver.75), but once again, within five minutes, it ran up about 100% of CPU Usage, and became "non-responsive" requiring a force quit!

What is happening??? I've got plenty of RAM, a very fast connection, fresh OS, every other browser works just fine, all except Opera, which I used to use, and would like to get back to using, but it has been impossible to do. Does anyone have the slightest clue as to what is going on, and/or what I can try to see if it might work once again?
