I have a similar issue, but in my case it looks like it freezes shortly after some video is displayed in a web page (be it Facebook for instance). It does not freeze for hours until I open such a web page (for example it does not freeze here).
I'm using Opera for Win x64.

@withom Ok. As soon as Opera starts, goto the URL
opera://settings/system
, disable "hardware acceleration" and restart Opera. See if Opera still hangs then. -

This happens to me since last update, it freezes when you start videos. Turning HA off fix it. But it worked fine before the update.

Consider closing some tabs and PC windows, as it sounds like your RAM might be running out sometimes.
I had this problem a lot with my old computer, and I was using 4GB of RAM. This didn't just happen with Opera, it happened with Chrome and Firefox.
On lower machines, Opera doesn't always run the best. In my experience, the new Microsoft Edge seems to be good for memory, as well as the Brave browser.
Hope this helps!

@burnout426 did not help . Sorry I didn't answer earlier, the opera just worked fine and I couldn't check your proposal.

@oliverdavis2006 Understood you, but my opera worked well before, and now after a reboot it works fine if it is not closed more than 2 times. It's too weird ...

@withom I think that you would be best to reset the computer to its factory settings. Sometimes computers tend to do that. For example, my old computer had a few problems after a couple of years of usage, I reset it and voila!
Hope this helps!

@withom It's a shame that it has to come to resetting the computer, but I am pretty sure this should do the trick.
You should make sure that all of the files are backed up or on a flash drive.
Thanks for the comment and please keep me posted
