What Are tile animations?

I was looking through the settings, i am new to opera gx, and i saw tile animations. I have tried all 4 (none, hovercraft, side out and blink) and haven't found out what they do. Please may someone tell me what these do / are.

@itsmitriyt Pass the mouse over a Speed Dial tile and you should see it.

I picked the drawer animation and now the titles are hidden until I get my mouse close to the time - at which point it slides out from underneath.
