Cannot see Passwords

I used to be able to click on the "reveal" button and see the password associated with a Web Site in the Passwords Section. But now I have to provide User Name and Password in order to do so, but I cannot remember my User Password and it seems difficult to me to find a way of viewing it.
As I am the only User on my Desktop PC (except for Administrater of course) is there any way of bypassing this check? Thanks - Mike - UK

leocg: this is not true. Not so long ago, following advice via a youtube post, I made a tweak to the registry, which then enabled me to view passwords simply by clicking on the reveal button. Opera has been updated more than once since then, as a result of which the input of OS Login details seems to have become obligatory. I cannot rermember what that tweak was, nor do I know if it would still work.
But as the sole User of my PC, and as I don't automatically sign in to most websites, it is a
little tiresome to think that I can only now view passwords by resetting my OS Login password (I cannot remember what is it is). I'm all for safety first but I would have preferred it if Opera at least gave an option to bypass this check I am a 76 year old pensioner and my memory is not what it was!Mike - UK.

@mrdcambs Sorry but you are wrong, it was never possible to see the saved passwords without typing the OS login password since they are encrypted using your OS login credentials.
That tweak most probably was taking advantage of a failure that now was already fixed by Chromium and or by Microsoft. -
