Ok, I FINALLY figured it out.
Here's what to do:- Find your wanted chrome extension (I'll use PreMiD for example)
- Copy the link
- Go to Chrome Extension Downloader
- Click download. Then .CRX file will download.
- Go to CRX Extractor
- Select your downloaded .CRX file from your computer, or drag and drop
- Click "Get Source Code". A .ZIP file with raw exntension file will start downloading
- Unpack it to whatever location you like (eg. desktop)
- Go to
opera://extensions
, switch on "Developer mode" in the top right corner, click on "Load unpacked", search for upacked .CRX extension folder and select it
You're done!
Hope it'll help some other people with this problem.

If it doesn't work for you, I've checked it, and the problem is that this addon doesn't like query strings in URL (interrogation and all that follows). You must access Chrome Web Store through Opera; if it doesn't show green colour at gear or extensions don't show "Add to Opera" button, then, click in URL shown in search bar, delete "?hl=" (where "" is your location) and press Enter. The page will reload and then wil show properly all the options for Opera. Easy trick!!

@McSqueezy-0 Ok, strange path to make it work something that should work easily out-of-the-box!
It seems somewhat dangerous, however, as I dunno that crxextract external site, and to download that zip from them is a bit dangerous as they can play with that in any way before to send it to you, put a rootkit inside or likely.
Should be way better to pinpoint the original problem on your machine or Opera installation and to solve that, to avoid such a security issue.
Have you tried to backup your main Opera account, then delete it, and to restore from backup? I seem to remember that there's a way to do this.
When I had to reinstall Opera from scratch, the accounts were fully restored from Opera website, just providing the right account credentials (obviously).Interesting path anyway, things you've learned are amazing and thanks to have told to us all.

Well, no extensions can change the new tab page. WHY?

Not working anymore. (At least for me). I Have installed Opera Beta and it is up to date. When I try to open webstore it giving me an error and asks for refresh the page. No matter how much i try or how much time interval pass between tries it just doesn't work! (No "Available on Chrome" or "Add to Opera" buttons.) I Tried both with logging in to webstore and without logging in but none of them worked too. Please fix this issue...

Hi, rvfet, just to let you know that not all chrome extensions can have 'Add to Opera'. Some & some not. And even after adding it to opera, you have to enable the extension from the extensions tab.
Hope this helps!

@vitoag1987 If you like Chrome, Vivaldi is also a rather good browser. It doesn't feel as modern, but it works great. And it works completely with all Chrome APIs.
