@leocg said in Where is the "Recently closed tabs/Tab menu" button on the top right?:
@lynnpin It's not in Opera for Windows, so it can't appear there. In Opera for Computers, it is the first topic after the pinned ones.
Thanks, I see it now.

Are they going to bring back recently closed tabs or should we start moving from Opera? Because that was the main reason i chose Opera over other browsers. This post is not supposed to be like a threat or whatever, i am just old enough and have no time for BS like this one is. If anyone has any info please let us know

I found this article and took out an account because i followed the step of going to opera://flags/#search-in-open-tabs but did not find any entry for search in open tabs. is there something else that can be done. the search function is not something i would use.
It seems there may be no way to get it back ? i am running 70.0.3728.106

Wow, thanks to you, guys, I just found out about Vivaldi, and it's all I wanted in a browser: [No Caps]

@arqhugo vivaldi is made by the old guys that made Opera, Opera was sold some time ago to a chinesse group and since opera guys didn't like some changes the new group made, they started Vivaldi, its nice browser too, has some tinny problems that need to improve, but yeah, they have the old dropdown of closed tabs we all want,

If a Opera developer can read this: please, bring back the "Recently closed tabs" button!

@zaapa1 Vivaldi was made on chromium, but it was made to look and work as close to Presto ( the old opera engine) as possible, and adding additional settings and things along the way.

@medusanyc you can revert to an old version, try and use opera without the recently closed feature, but getting updates, or switch to another browser (the heavily mentioned here Vivaldi, or perhaps others).
Using versions higher that 70 of opera one can't bring it back no matter what. -

@123ms long story short - they won't bring it back. You can read a bit through this thread for some other possible options.

I don't understand why the Opera stuff ignore the users, using the force to implement something useless and to remove a very useful option "Recently closed tabs/Tab menu". Opera loose a lot in front of other browsers. The users make a software useful, not the programmers. This is very strange behaviour...

There's some info at https://windowsreport.com/is-windows-firewall-blocking-port-program/ on how to enable logging for the Window firewall program. Maybe the log will reveal something.
