speed dial fails to load with numerous "out of memory" errors on other sites

For the past few weeks, Opera has been excrutiatingly slow, and the speed dial page shows the name on the tab but fails to load -- all I see is a white screen. While working in other tabs, I have had multiple crashes "ceased working due to a problem" or "out of memory" and have had some difficulty reloading the page, or else it crashes again right away. Opera also seems to be using an inordinate amount of memory, like about 50% of my 8 GB. Is there a fix for this?

@ajs4opera Regarding memory usage, you can check Opera's internal task manager.

Might not be the problem, but make sure you have Opera's battery saver feature turned off in settings. It can cause out of memory issues.

Hilarious that you want Speed Dial, it is the first thing I disable
