the two deal breakers for me are 1) no menu bar and limited ability to customize and 2) inability to move tab bar. My default browser will never have the tab bar on top. Why do developers feel they need to dumb software down?
At least for me, the more options to customize the better. A tab mix plus extension would be welcomed. Using Pale Moon now, but will continue to follow Opera's development, as I very much like the VPN and ad blocker built in capability.
Glad I took a closer look and hope the two issues mentioned above will be addressed so I can change my default browser.

I would say that the chances of a menu bar to be added in Opera is near zero. Regarding tab bar placement, it may have a chance in the future.

Just hang in there - there's lots of happening with extension community. To begin with: Firefox and Edge are jumping on webextensions right as we speak. Chrome extension site and Firefox extension site will defo be the places to get extensions in the future. If one doesn't find from Opera Addon - then go to Chrome Web Store. There's also React and Redux which are new extension/app platforms to run in the browser. Just stay tuned.

And you know - not that long ago Chromium, then Chrome, enabled settings_override API. It's poisoned to come to Opera as well.

Interesting times ahead for a web browser!
