Opt out of Sync?

The browser shows a notice that autologin failed. If I log in then it will delete all my speed dials. Is there some way to opt out of sync altogether? The "convenience" is overshadowed by throwing away hours of speed dial set up.

@milesahead To opt-out from sync, just don't login to it.
That is my work-around for now. In fact I am using another browser to avoid the possibility of it happening during login on the forum.

@milesahead Why it would delete your Speed Dials?
No good reason I can think of. I seem to run into speed dial destruction on upgrades on many browsers. Upgrading FF from major version 77 to 78 did me in. Fortunately I also had the portable version so I could copy the info over rather than doing all that work again. As last resort I restore a system image. That is what I did to fix Opera. I used to know where Opera kept the various versions and how to copy over profiles or just revert to a previous version by setting the launcher config file. But I forget the location or maybe stuff has changed in the last few years.

@milesahead Login to the forum will not login you to sync.
Cool. I ran the old Opera 8.52 for years. It worked flawlessly and did everything I wanted so I felt no need to upgrade for quite some time. It seems many browsers run into issues auto updating. So does Windows 10 for that matter.

For what it is worth it seems that when I sign into Opera Sync for some reason it creates another Speed Dial Folder with the exact same name as that currently in use. I gave up trying to fix it after two hours and just restored the system image again. Guess I will just avoid the Sync feature otherwise I get drawn into wasting half a day. Weirdest problem I have seen in quite some time.
