@dogmad: You can do that with any webpage in Vivaldi, Whale, and several other browsers because they support PWA. Opera decided not to support it so they have to bloat the browser with more code, among other things. As a moderator leocg said, and i am paraphrasing, they will need to remove other features that they think aren't as useful or don't matter. Opera's decision was/is simply idiotic.

@rejzor They have a big history of making more apps, dividing resources then shutting them all down. And pretending that they are re-focusing, then proceed to do it all over again. They should just focus on making the core software the best thing they can instead of doing that.

Opera is pretending that Instagram's desktop app doesn't exist. ALL of these messengers have desktop apps btw and again it would be more beneficial to the users and Opera themselves if Opera opted for PWA support instead of this laughable crap.
How would it benefit Opera? Answer: less coding, browser will be much lighter, and no support headaches. PWA will support the browser no matter what is changed. So the messenger stuff pinned to the sidebar would never break the browser.

Hi Opera team, would it be possible to have OperaGX dev/beta version stream akin to the usual Opera? Id love to just have OperaGX Dev stream as it would save me trouble of switching between the two all the time.

Maybe we have a little transparency in the GX interface as we did in Opera Neon?
