Sync does not work! When you try to login browser freezes!

Same here in France. It's not the first time in history of Opera. I have been using this browser since 2008 and around 2015 every year I have the same problem several times a year.
I found a tip to avoid the freeze withou losting the tabs and the sessions, just the Fast access pages on a new tab.
Go to your Windows Explorer and search :
C:\Users\THE NAME OF YOUR PC HERE\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable
And you delete the files "Preferences" and "Preferences.backup"
Et voilà ! -

@jurassic39 Thank you! But if I remove these files, the "fall" all my settings. Or do you suggest saving bookmarks and settings manually (as described)?

@masser112 I tried several times : you only lost Fast access pages, you're right settings (but it's fast to configure).
But your bookmarks, passwords etc are safe.
And you can find Fast access pages, bookmarks, history, passwords etc on your Opera account. Here : https://sync.opera.com/web/ -

Hi guys, you can try to reset the synced data on https://sync.opera.com (the data in your Opera's profile should be intact): simply log out from your sync account in Opera, and perform the reset on the sync website. Then try to sign in to the account in Opera again, and see if this helps.

I have the same problem. I could neither login to forum until today. I guess I will try what you said. I only tryed loging out to avoid the freezing.

I guess my Sync data was a bit messed up after all those years...
