I tried double clicking with the wheel, but it does not do anything. And for me, that's really awkward. Never did that action with a wheel

@jumper77 Don't need to double click, just click.

@leocg, Sorry, no I wasn't. I just tried it though and it works. It's a bit awkward for me to use the wheel to click something and it will take time to get used to that. But I'm happy I found something that works.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. I do appreciate it!

@jumper77 I agree with you while other browser have theses features already (include Open Bookmark in new tab) such as Cent, Vivaldi, Kinza (Right Click to Close tab), Whale. I wonder why developer team were ignore these features or this will make some trouble for browser? I don't think so. I think this matter for user behavior

@Mottanoi I'm guessing that it's a very popular feature, but no way for me to tell. I started out with FireFox and they had a great extension that would allow you to double click a tab to close it. And that was MANY years ago.

With Vivaldi, it's built into the browser. You just check a box to allow the browser to do it.

@Mottanoi They don't ignore, they probably just don't think it's necessary to add them, at least yet.

@leocg I'm not trying to make a big deal of it. I'm an old fart and remember when Opera first came out. I used it for a short while then. But guess why I went back to FireFox, 🙂

@jumper77 I'm Firefox user bcoz of that features. In actually Firefox can edit some abilities in "About:Config" to enable "Open Bookmark in new tab" and "DoubleClick to Close tab" without install any add-on like that you can google it

@leocg I think sometime it's not convinient to push on wheel in any reason if can use right click that will make it easier

@Mottanoi Well, I've been doing it for, don't know, a couple of decades maybe. I already use the mouse with a finger on the wheel.

@leocg I just found something just now. Opera has an extension that let's you use Chrome extensions. It can be found here.

I installed a Chrome extension that closes a tab if you double click the page (not the tabs)

Hi @jumper77, if you want, you can try also the "Close Tab by Double Right Click" extension - double right click on the page, working for webpages, not internal Opera's pages).

Alternatively, you can simply enable mouse gestures under opera:settings/shortcuts , hold down right mouse, and "Move down, then right" to close a tab.
There is also a keyboard shortcut to close the current tab - Ctrl+W (Windows/Linux) and ⌘+W on Mac, but you probably know that already. You can also change it to custom one.

@l33t4opera Thanks. I appreciate the info, but I'm going to stick with the double click web page extension. I'm so used to doing it with the double left button click.

                                  cheers!
