And how are you trying to open the file - from File Manager, or from Opera's Open File dialog?

File manager. Already opened pdf-files in Opera will not show the content. Just "No Internet
        No Internet

        ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED"
Refresh doesn't help. Url shows the correct search.

Local PDFs load fine for me in Opera on Windows 10. Do the PDFs you're trying to load have some crazy-long file names or something. As in, does one named "test.pdf" load fine?

What ever the name is, the behavior is the same.
If network is up, the files are found without trouble.
If I shut the network down and make a refresh the error with the faulty spacecraft (ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED) comes up, When network is up again, followed by a refresh, the page is found again.

Did you try the Open dialog to see if it is the same? In Opera, press Ctrl-O to show the Open dialog, then find the file to look at there.

The same go for html-files. Without internet connection Opera will not open any local html-file

That's definitely weird. You tested with an PDF and html file on your desktop? The local files are really local? (as in, not on a network share or something)

What if you test with a fresh profile of Opera? Download the Opera installer, launch it, click "options" set "install path" to a folder named "Opera Test" on your desktop, set "install for" to "standalone installation", uncheck import data from default browser" and install. Test in that Opera with ctrl + o or dragging to that Opera. But, don't enable Opera Sync in that Opera or install any extensions.

                      How does it work there?

Thanks. Any idea why it misbehaved?
