Can the vpn function be automatically be removed from the browser somehow?

I downloaded opera browser because of the inbuilt vpn, however upon the first installation, I couldnt find the vpn fuction in the settings. I deleted and redownloaded and installed again then it came. However, after turning off the pc overnight, the vpn function is gone again. Can anyone help or explain to me why this is happening?

The VPN will be disabled in any country where it is prohibited (for example, China). If you're not in such a country, then it should be fine.
