how can opera know my location?

I am in China, installed opera and it's vpn function work fine. But after I close and reopen the browser the vpn disappeared. How can opera know my location and how to bypass this detection or any ways to keep the vpn function after reboot the browser?

Opera checks with Google for your location. The location is stored in a file named "Local state" in Opera's profile directory. See comments in the FAQ regarding changing default search (which also depends on location) for more details.

I started using Opera for the VPN last month and never had any problems ... and I deleted all of my cookies to see if that would help, but it didn'. ... 1 Reply Last reply Aug 16, 2018, 3:05 PM ... Google is good at guessing based on IP.
