Installed opera fresh on windows 10 today, speed dials was turned off, I went to settings and turned them back on. The only problem is it still won’t create speed dials. Every time I close and reopen opera speed dials is turned off again. No luck. I have seen this before. I remove opera, cleaned out the app data and registry. Rebooted reinstalled and the same thing. Any suggestions

I 'upgraded' to Opera Stable 62.0.3331.109 earlier today and am now experiencing this same problem. I noticed that the 'Speed Dial' icon next to the browser URL/Search line is now grayed-out, too.

If you turned it off in Quick Setup, you can turn it back on. If it wasn't actually turned off, then you'll need to describe the problem better. (In current versions of Opera, Quick Setup is near the right end of the address bar.)

After downloading opera for a customer today, I notice after creating a speed dial there was a small arrow under the google search slot , you click on that and it brings you down towards the bottom of the page and there are your speed dials.
Seems like this new version makes you take some extra moves and takes the convenience out of the way opera was.

That was what I was asking about, the search box and speed dials should be at the top of the page without having to scroll down, and there's no fix?

It's actually even worse now since the arrow seems to have gone so you have to use the scroll bar.

I only updated to the latest version because the sidebar links kept stopping working and had to keep restarting.

Sorry guys, too many problems with Opera for now, hope you sort them out and I can use it again some day.

Yes, I install Opera for my elderly customers because of it's simplicity. They love the speed dials and don't like extra moves. Why change something that works.

I appreciate everyone's input. I eventually found the Speed Dial area by scrolling down as 'bmyers48' described. While there is no arrow near my Google search bar, there is a faint (very little contrast) scroll bar on the left side of the start page. I agree with 'tobe181' that this doesn't make sense. Why the huge gap underneath the Google search bar (which I never use anyway). Maybe it will be corrected in future release. Thanks again to all who responded.
