      Hey everybody,

so I've been using Opera for a long time now. I'm used to typing a "y" into the URL bar and pressing enter, that instantly gets me to my Youtube feed. Now since today afternoon, every time I put in just the "y" it opens Yahoo. I'm aware of that feature and I use it quite a lot for searching amazon, but now I can't quickly access my Youtube feed anymore (and that's probably my most opened page, accessing it at least 20 times a day, checking uploads and comments, I'm actually a Youtuber myself).
is there any way to disable the "y" for Yahoo shortcut, or disable the whole feature? Because having to change my muscle memory to typing in "yo" every time, that'll take a while and is already driving me insane.

      Thanks a lot,
      David

It doesn't seem to have a way to do it.

There is but its a pain in the butt. Give this a shot:

          1. Go to opera://about to learn your paths
          2. Close the browser
          3. Copy siteprefs.json from %installation-root%\profile to %installation-root%%opera-version%\resources
          4. In %installation-root% remove default_partner_content.json then rename siteprefs.json to default_partner_content.json and set read-only access on it
          5. Remove default_partner_content.json from %installation-root%\profile

From there you should be able to reuse any search engine letter except G, as Google is hard coded into the browser as a fallback.

If that is too much of a hassle you can just assign a different letter for YouTube. Or even two letters. Back before I knew about this ticket I used 'YY' for YouTube.

            David, ☕ !
Unless there is a letter case distinction, just use yt for YouTube, 😛 .
It seems pretty quick to me!
In the Olde Opera I had so many engines that two letter shortcuts was a minimum.

              Does it still work?

                Yep, that actually worked. Cheers!

Although the steps were a little different for me, I had the siteprefs.json and the default_partner_content.json in the same folder from the beginning.
